Research task 9: Cultural Policies
The DMCS are a government department that deal with English culture in the creative industry, it's responsible for things like sports, broadcasting, internet etc. Their job is yo "enrich lives and promote Britain abroad. They Also Help give the UK a "unique advantage on the global stage". Basically they help Britain companies to promote the culture.
On the DMCS website there is a page where you can see all of the latest updates, a little bit like a news site but for things relating to British culture for example some recent ones are: " Extra bank holiday to mark the Queens's platinum Jubilee in 2022" this is something quintessentially British. There is also multiple things about covid and news in that region.
Cultural policies are policies that relate to the creative industry for examples things like, location releases, these are things that have to be completed within the creative industry that are specific to the creative industry. Another example would be different types of funding. The government have a scheme were any one can apply for funding as long as they a registered business, the funds come from the national lottery. you could could apply for £25,000 up to £3 million. Due to the pandemic the creative sector has taken a massive hit, the government have introduced a lot of schemes to try and fix these issues, for example the "Culture Recovery Fund" is a funding scheme set out to recover the culture of the creative arts industry.
