Business Plan

 Executive summary

Inhouse productions creates factual programs focusing on lesser-known issues in the world to bring them more attention. The news is always filled with gossip and first world issues leaving out way more serious issues that occur in lesser known third world countries. Inhouse aims to bring spotlight on these issues and make people more aware of them.

Business Overview

As a company our aims and values are quite simple, to aims to always present biased stories, to not let our opinion change the story. We also aim to make good relationships with the people in the documentaries, I strongly believe one of the most important things about interviewing someone is making them feel comfortable in the environment , this is also likely to lead to better answers.

Sales and marketing

I'll be selling my programs to distributors so marketing to viewers won't be my problem, I'll be marketing towards these companies that will be showing my programs, despite not directly marketing towards viewers distribution companies wouldn't be happy if we created something that wasn't viewer friendly , this is why it's also very important to be aware of Ofcom rules while working on a project. I also think it's important to have a good presence on social media, if the company is more well known then we're more likely to get recognised, which could lead to more work for us in the future. The way we market ourselves on social media is also very important, we need to show off things we've worked on before, but also have a more relatable and human feel.

Operations and resources

To start off with we might not have as many resources as some of our competitors, because won't have as much money, this is why it's important to stand out from the crowd in other aspects, for example, the idea is to have a relatable and charismatic host to present the programs. We will also have to be aware of  a lot of rules will filming, for example, we need to make sure that all of the content is viewer friendly and can actually be aired on TV,  we also need to make sure all of the equipment is insured just in case something happens to it. Also if we're working with children then we need to make sure that we stick to child labor laws.

Staff and management

Of course to start out my roaster of staff will be very small, this will cheap the cost a lot lower because there will be less salaries to pay, but the low about of staff will also mean more pressure on all of the staff, Productions will generally take longer and it would be harder to travel further to film things. This is is why to start out we will have to work for local companies. Over time I want to greatly expand my roaster of staff so the company could potentially work on more than one project at a time, also with a larger roaster and more funds it will be easier to get a production team further out into the world quicker.

Planning

We will plan all of out production appropriately, we will have plenty of meetings with clients, we will also need to plan how to get staff to a location, and what locations we can actually film at (we could be finned for trespassing). If we do need to film on private property then we need to make sure that we have the right permissions. Same goes for talent we need to make sure everyone on camera signs the appropriate forms.

Finances

At the start of the business I would either have to fund it myself which could get really pricey, or find an investor, although I'd probably have to give them a percentage of the business in return. I hope that eventually the business will start to become profitable enough to fund it's self.
