Regulatory Frameworks and how they affect my business

Regulatory frameworks

The main regulatory frameworks that apply to my business are Ofcom, BBFC, and ASA. ASA our documentaries will be advertised so we will also need to follow the ASA rules for them. Although the ASA doesn't directly apply to us because we won't be the ones actually editing the adverts.  We need to make sure the programs are appropriate for TV, this could be a little bit difficult considering the nature of them, we'd have to leave out maybe some of the more graphic details. as for BBFC we'd want as low of as a rating as possible to reach the biggest audience. But again this might be difficult considering the nature of the programs. Although This would only apply to our films if they where shown at a theatre as BBFC is the board that decides the ratings for films, it would be great to have this kind of importance and exposure but it would be quite difficult. If some of our programs are a bit graphic then they'd have to be aired after the watershed, which is a time (9pm) where more graphics and less child friendly  programs can be shown. This would be bad because it would reach less of an audience, but because my company is about being completely honest and un biased it might be essential for the integrity of the program. I would have to find a good balance here.

Although It's very important to me to be completely unbiased and to show all of the details it is absolutely essential that we follow these frameworks and make sure our programs stay within them, and although the company is about being honest, things might have to be cut out because the business still needs to make money.
